Feedback from the Activity Day (May 2012)

Grampian Child Bereavement Network held an Activity Day in May 2012 for children and young people who have been bereaved. The theme of the day was keeping memories safe and the aim was to provide an opportunity for children to come together to explore their experience, feelings and memories in a safe and supportive environment.

The participants were offered a range of activities, some of which offered them the opportunity to consider aspects of their loss but childreb were not under any pressure to talk or think about their experience of bereavement, if they are not ready or do not wish to do so.

Activities included making memory chains, memory boxes, feelings jars and dream catchers. There were also a range of other games and activities available.

This was our first Activity Day, and we hope that this will be the first of many activities.
